We want you to be absolutely delighted with Evermore. As we discussed previously, we’re pioneering a new way to build websites that gives your organization tremendous value. The way we do that is by clearly defining what we do and how we do it.
With Evermore, you pay a monthly fee that covers hosting, maintenance, security, optimization, and access to new features—all of which are usually separate considerations and costs. Combining these gives you unheard-of value! We’re proud of that.
Email support is also included. Yet, in creating agency-quality sites without agency cost, it can be tough to know what to expect. We’ve designed every facet of Evermore to be efficient and pass the value along to you, so we don’t try to include a bunch of prospective work we’d have to charge you for. Instead, we want to empower you in every way we can. So, the simplest way to think about Evermore support is: we answer your questions. We don’t work on your site.
Our goal is to give you the tools you need to succeed, so we focus on: teaching you, pointing you in the right direction, and, most importantly, keeping your site humming along. Just like almost any other hosting provider, custom work is not included in your monthly fee. So, if you need us to do additional configuration, update content, or make changes to your site, we’ll charge you extra or help you find someone who specializes in the type of work you need done.
Let’s explore a real life example:
Recently, one of our customers needed to update her photo gallery and her contact form. She took a look through our free video tutorials, but they weren’t quite specific enough for her. To speed things up, she submitted a help desk ticket and we responded to promptly with step-by-step instructions. Everything up to this point was included, which is already more than you’ll get out of most hosting companies.
Then she asked, “Can you just do this for me? It will probably take you five minutes.” Even though we love helping people, we had to politely say that we bill hourly (with 1/10 hour increments). In her case, she felt like it was worth the small cost, and she was taken care of.
This approach allows us to continue to provide value to customers and be sustainable as a business. Otherwise, we’d have to compromise on quality or raise our rates for existing customers.
How does this differ from regular hosting?
Regular web hosts just host your site. The quality (and price) of a host can vary drastically and you usually get what you pay for. We’ve covered the differences between Evermore and managed WordPress hosting before, but we don’t know of any existing hosts that choose to empower and equip you to the extent that we do. In the example above, most hosts would’ve responded with the equivalent of “Google it yourself”.
Evermore provides premium quality hosting that rivals companies charging $30-50+ per month, per site—and that’s for the hosting and support alone. Some offer optimization and security, but rarely to the extent we do, and they certainly don’t offer access to premium designs and functionality So, you start with premium quality hosting, improve the support, and add access to valuable resources. Those who have priced things out know Evermore is an astounding value, but no hosting company is going to work on your site for you. You’ll always have to pay for that.
Empowerment
You may not realize it, but not long ago you had to pay someone else big bucks to update your site! Evermore is designed to fix that by putting you in control. Our whole business model is built on you learning to create and update your own content, because we believe that empowering you to take control of your website is one of the most valuable business skills you can possess. It’s one big reason we use WordPress (the content management system powering your site) and choose not to customize the way things look—after a little time with your site, you’ll have become an expert user of the world’s most popular CMS.
As your business grows, there are many things on your website that you may not be able to do or you will not find value in doing yourself. For example, if you want to set up complex forms or integrate a unique payment situation, you may just prefer to pay to get it done. Again, we can bill you at an hourly rate or send you to someone who can help—it just becomes a business decision for you. Would you rather trade time or money?
Ultimately, Evermore’s value continues to go up the longer you’re a customer. You become more informed and more comfortable managing your own site with helpful folks on the other side of your support questions. And that doesn’t even take into account the value of all the services included in our hosting, which we covered in a previous post.
